Today on Getting Social with Miriam I had an awesome guest, speaker Judy Cohen.
Judy is a presentation expert, speaker, as well as a certified seminar leader who owns and runs Red Hot Presentations. She is the author of the book, Red Hot Presentations: How To Write And Deliver A Talk So You Get More Clients, Make More Money, And Become Famous In Your Niche As A Speaker. Judy has committed her life to help people learn to speak up so they can not only get what they want, however they will know how to get what they need. She is definitely on a quest to empower individuals to find their voice, overcome fear of speaking, and position themselves as an expert in their field through the power of presenting.
During the show, Judy and I were talking about the parallels of developing powerful public speaking tactics and creating a strong social media presence- and influence. For instance, as a speaker, you must engage with your audience and give a relevant and compelling speech. In social media, you obviously must share relevant and engaging content to your networks. However, at times you must allow yourself to be vulnerable (to a degree) and be yourself at times in both instances. Share niche related content most of the time, however it is encouraged to definitely be real. Your audience and connections will connect with you on a deeper level, and realize you are being authentic. That will draw them towards you even more.
Judy shared a lot of important tips for speakers such as how to manage nerves, how to create high quality and engaging presentations as well as the mistakes that many presenters make in their power point slides. Be sure to listen to the archive, embedded in this post just below.
Be sure to connect with Judy on her social media networks as well.

I love the show. Keep up the great work
Thanks Fred, I am glad you enjoy it.
I met Judy several years ago when we were both in a program that met quarterly around the country, and I found her to be one of the kindest, most grounded women. I’m thrilled to see her book out … and to see her sharing her genius through Getting Social With Miriam! BTW, did you know she’s an amazing dancer?
That is awesome Sharon and that I did not know, very nice 🙂
Great points Miriam and Judy!
Thanks Scott!
Great content. Thank you. Xx
Wonderful show Miriam.
Thanks Maggie!
Perfect topic!! I’ve marketed (and attended) hundreds of national conferences but I could probably only tell you the names of 20 powerful speakers. Even big name people with fascinating topics can put a room to sleep if they don’t know how to present, or if they simply read you their slides.
