I was so excited to be interviewing marketing and branding consultant, Desiree Wolfe for the second time on Getting Social with Miriam. Desiree is an extremely motivated entrepreneur in the marketing world. She has a knack for pairing up two people that need each other. Sort of like the matchmaker for professionals. She always has the resources to help out fellow entrepreneurs. With 2 young kids, she is very involved in family activities and constantly striving to keep the balance of a professional career, in a fast paced industry, and a happy home front.
Desiree broke away from the corporate world and is now the CEO of Desiree Marketing and Mama Owned Business. She is highly focused on helping speakers, authors and coaches build their business through marketing, public relations and product launch campaign management and coaching.
She is the one who has the pink hair, tattoos and piercings! Desiree?s mission is to break the molds of professionalism and to show others that it is not only okay to let their personalities shine- it is encouraged! Last time we focused on the topic of branding. On this podcast, we focused on the topic of social media, a great one to cover during the holidays.
That half hour podcast was jam packed with information on social media. Desiree and I covered why it is not a good idea to share too much personal information on social media- especially if there is a lot of negativity attached to it. However, on the flip side, there is also a way to talk about your situations in an engaging and neutral manner which is not only acceptable but encouraged. We also talked about why social media will never take the place of your own self hosted blog. We also talked about why it is important to fill in information on your profiles about yourself- topics that I may have not covered in my previous posts on social media. It was a great show for all business owners to listen!

Excellent interview Miriam. I couldn’t agree more with her tips, especially not sharing too much personal information. In fact just recently I unsubscribed from a blog I’d been following for a couple of years because the blogger has gotten stuck on over sharing about her divorce. I get it – been there done that – but it’s my business and certainly nothing I would share with my readers, week after week. Thanks for the interesting post.
Oh wow, this blogger just kept going on about her divorce huh? That is too much, definitely agreed. I don’t blame you for unsubbing. Thanks for commenting.
Interesting POD cast , I am going to connect with Desiree as she has some great ideas.
Thansk for sharing
