Many people really fail to understand the main purposes of social media. If you are online more than 75{a0065375a7e2d1c093abc1aba7894b1ad713a40df7f413d8a34d916c8e570350} of the time in a day like more and more people are, you probably have some idea. Social media allows you to communicate and connect with anyone, where ever, whenever. That being the case, it would be in your best interest to share some great content that relates to your interests or niche with others- so they can really connect with you and form relationships- whether it is for business and/or friendship.
Go Get a Blog and Keep Updating it
Sharing images and articles written by others that are related to your niche or areas of interest is definitely recommended. However, why not share some of your own goods with those in your network? You can easily do that by blogging! Yes, go and get a blog! You can get free ones from Blogger or WordPress. Or if you really want to step it up, purchase a domain that strikes your fancy (as long as it is not already in use) or use your name as a domain and get hosting. The cost is minimal for that as well. Go get some ideas for topics by looking at other blogs in your areas of interest, forum posts and then the creativity builds from there on. Start posting and then once you do, be sure to promote your blog all over your social media networks!
Why would you bother promoting your blog? The fact of the matter is, other than registering with some blog networks no one is even going to know your blog exists if you do not share it on your social media networks. So definitely go start blogging, write up topics that you know will intrigue those in your networks. Spread your influence around! Your networks will grow and people will see you as a source for goods! By then way, in addition to sharing your goods with the rest of the world, did you know that you could also make money from your blog? You can signup for affiliate programs like Clickbank or other programs like Google Adsense. If you are using your blog to make money then you will definitely want to promote it.
When it comes to promoting blogs, there are many blog owners who decide to let the search engine do the work for them. Search engines, such as Google and Bing use special techniques that reads the content on your website. That content is then used to rank your website with particular keywords. This means that you run a blog on breeding Bichon Frise pups, there is a good chance that your blog will appear in searches done on Bichon Frise pups. Even though many blogs are successfully ranked in search engines, not all are. That is why you are advised against relying solely on search engines when it comes to promoting your blog. This is where social media will take over. Not to mention, the more your blog is spread through out different social media channels, that also helps with SEO for your blog.
There are several ways to promote your blog through social media. Definitely be sure to add your blog in your contact info area on Facebook, even Twitter if you are going to use that as the main link to use for your profile, and Google Plus, LinkedIn, Klout, and the list goes on. The other way is to share, share and share your updated posts. Encourage your friends to share your newly written up posts as this will help your blog go viral! And if your content is good, it will go viral without you even asking anyone to share. People will automatically do it, and that is also how your online influence develops. So go get yourself a blog if you don’t have one already. Keep it updated with good content, keep sharing it, and if you are consistent enough you will be looked at as being the influential one in your field or area of interest- and may even make a little cash on the side!
I have used Blogger for quite some time. I know many who feel that it isn’t the best platform. There are times I have to agree. At the same time, it has been an easy and free way to get started. It isn’t difficult to begin, and isn’t that difficult to navigate. You gotta start somewhere! You can’t get somewhere unless you start. So much of what I now know came from taking smaller bites in new arenas. I know many are baffled by Twitter, but it can be an incredible forum in so many ways once you find your way around.
Have a good night, and Happy July 4th!
Another great article with many wonderful tips.
Thanks 🙂
